Our Company Health & Safety Policy and strategies are constantly reviewed and updated in order to maintain our objective of having a zero incident and accident free workplace.
As the Health & Safety at work regulations are constantly changing we decided that in order for us to maintain our high standard of health & Safety in the work place we have enrolled as members of the Construction Health & Safety Group (CHSG) since May 2005 http://www.chsg.co.uk .
CHSG provide us with regular Health & Safety updates and advice. They also provide excellent training programmes covering all aspects to Health & Safety from senior management level to our on-site apprentices.
To ensure that we achieve our ongoing objective of continual improvement of our health and safety performance, we also retain the services of Marshside Health and Safety Ltd, a consultancy specializing in the provision of health and safety support and advice in the construction sector. They support us by ensuring that our procedures and processes are robust, are regularly reviewed, and reflect not only current legislative requirements, but also current best practice. They audit our systems and our sites and also provide support for our managers, site personnel and operatives.
They are licensed by IOSH to deliver their widely recognised health and safety training courses.
We recognise that every project is different in many ways. We assess the individual risks associated with each job and carefully minimise any risks involved.
Our managers are trained to produce high quality clear and effective method statements, along with the associated risk assessments, that ensure safe systems of work that can be readily understood by the operatives are in place.
From this base we are confident that all our operatives understand that in order to create the ultimate safe site, everyone involved in carrying out their work must consider the risks involved, not just to themselves but, to others around them.
To support the effective management of risks regular Tool Box talks are carried out on site and we have an open door policy where operatives are encouraged to raise any issues or concerns regarding safety so that they feel confident in each specific task they carry out.
Our Operatives have successfully completed many onsite Health & Safety courses including but are not limited to:
As part of our policy to have a comprehensively trained workforce, our managers and supervisors hold either 3 day First Aid at Work or 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work qualifications
All operatives have attended Construction Skills Certification Schemes. Qualified electricians all carry CSCS ECS scheme cards and are qualified to NICEIC 17th Edition.
